Post a new topicby im4everinvisable on Wed Oct 10, 2007 7:32 pm

Had a heart attack August 21,07,,, a stent was put in my right cornary artery which was 100 % blocked,,, will this one work for life or will it need to be replaced from time to time? Also Cardioligst says I'am not normal,,, he told me 98 % of patients heart attacks involve the left side of the heart,,, mine was a right sided heart attack ,, involving and damaging right side of my heart,,he said only 2% of heart attacks are right sided,,,, Says they want to keep close eye on me

For life would depend on how old you are and how long you will live. Each stent has a blockage rate, you should ask your cadiologist what the rate is for the stent you have. I have seen some patients need more stents as well as have another heart attack when their stent fails, You need to change your life style, good luck
