PVI FOR A-FibHi I am a male of 78, after 8 years with Lone AF I went to a electrophysiologist, after tests he said he would do a PVI which I had 4 months ago at the Royal Adelaide Hospital (Australia) it took 7 hours and 5 days in hospital, there was no pain after the procedure. I have not had AF for 5 weeks and the echo showed that my heart had returned to normal size. Best part no charge for the procedure.

Re: PVI FOR A-FibJust want to know whats PVI...........I need familiarity with medical terminology. I have A-Fib (this I know), and bradycardia with stent. I had cardioversion done twice that stayed sinus rythym for 2 hours on both test, but back to A-fib. Pacemaker was inplaced due to my slow heart rate that went down to 25 BPM (I am pace at 75BPM), two leads but only one functioning. Amiodarone for 6 months, nothing happen, still A-fib. I am taking coummadin and aspirin, metropolol, lazartin, and lots of other meds for cholosterol control. I am stil experiencing chest pain occasionally without doing any specific acitivity....could be just sitting down, relaxing, and there it goes abruft chest squishing episode lasted in seconds. It could happen several times in a day. I said too much, just want to know what PVI stand for. Thanks
