Atrial Fibrillation

Hi,
I get paroxysmal afib early every morning when sleeping on either side! While on my back, it almost never occurs but I roll over in my sleep and it starts. When I get up and use the bathroom it also stops.
My VA caregivers are non-plussed to explain the reason for this.
Does anyone note a similar pattern in their afib?
I'm sixty five and 10+ lbs overweight, 183 pounds. I also get random tachy- and brady- cardia similar to the sick sinus disease. I'm going veggie and bike-riding more and the episodes are shorter and weaker now.

My A-fib sometimes gets worse if I lay on my side. I'm actually in fibrillation right now & quite uncomfortable. I came here looking for help. I'm scared (more than normally) of doctors & anything medical. So, I don't tell my docs how bad it is. Don't want them to order any invasive tests. My heart is pounding so fast.

Hi, My a-fib is a little different than you talk about but in bed when I am on my left side I can't stay there very long because I can feel my heart beating and it really bugs me. That is the only time I actually feel it. During the day the only indication is shortness of breathe. Have you had cardio version treatment, I have twice. The second time my heart went back in regular rhythm but it only stayed there for a few months. Jeri
