Side effects of cordarone

My 92 year old Mother has atrial fibrillation and her cardologist just prescribed cordarone. After reading the horrendous side effects, my Mother doesn't want to take the medicine. Her doctor said that, with her congestive heart failure, that this is the only medicine for her. Can anybody give me some feedback on people you actually know who take this, and did they have many side effects?
