Pain during cardiac cath??

Post a new topicby edb00 on Tue Jul 15, 2008 1:54 pm

I recently had a cardiac cath done and experienced severe chest pain during the procedure. I complained but doc seemed unfazed -- disbelief?
After the procedure the pain had settled into a line across my chest just below the clavicles.
It took morphine, other pain killers and 45 minutes to an hour for the pain to subside.
Cardiologist had disappeared and no one seemed to have a clue about what caused the pain.
Online searches likewise have been of no help -- all sources mention that in the event of pain to complain but nothing about the cause.

What the heck is going on?
