Delayed Vasovagal Response to Heart Catheterization?

Post a new topicby pikchick on Fri Jul 25, 2008 7:22 am

My husband underwent heart catheterization because a stress test indicated a small heart blockage. Both heart and arteries were found to be clean. An hour and a half after the procedure, his heart rate plummeted and he suffered a 35 second asoltole (he died for 35 seconds). Has anyone ever heard of this before? I was told that a vagal response usually happens when the sheath is removed, not later. Any information would be appreciated.
