student collecting patient info

Post a new topicby Guest on Sun Oct 16, 2005 1:53 am

Hi,

I'm a senior year student in University of Pennsylvania developing a new treatment technique that reduces the chances of patients experiencing restenosis. I'm right now trying to collect some information from patients who have been diagnosed with coronary artery disease/ peripheral arterial disease and have undergone some form of angioplasty procedure. I would really appreciate if anyone out there could kindly share these valuable information. You may reply in this forum or email me at [moderator note: e-mail address has been removed] with subject title PATIENT EXPERIENCE. I look forward to hearing from you. Below are some questions I would like to ask:

>
How did you first find out about your condition?
What were you told about your condition?
How did you determine which hospital or surgeons to go to?
How did you decide on which angioplasty procedure to go for?

>
How did you feel during the procedure?
How long did the procedure last?

>
What did the doctor mention to you soon after the procedure?
What medication did the doctor prescribe and the dosage given?
How long did you take to recover?
What was the cost of the procedure (excluding medication)?
Were you reimbursed by any insurance plan?
Do you experience any complications?
How would you rate the overall experience of going through the procedure?
What do you think could be done to enhance this overall experience?

>
When was the last time you undergo angioplasty?
When did you found out about your condition of restenosis?
What did the doctor recommend?
How much have you spent in total since you were diagnosed with the disease?
How have you been lately?
