Chest Pain

Post a new topicby Guest on Fri Jul 12, 2002 3:49 pm

My boyfriend has had a heart attack and 4 stents. He sometimes has a pain much like a pulled muscle in his left ribcage area. It usually hurt only when he tries to draw a deep breath. His pulse rate and bp are within normal limits for him. Is this a sign of another heart attack or could it be angina?

Pain in the chest which occurs when one takes a deep breath in is called pleuritic chest pain.
The differential for this type of chest pain can be something benign like chest wall pain, or something more serious like a blood clot in the lung.
I would recommend an evaluation by his cardilogist.
