Chest Pain

Post a new topicby Guest on Wed Aug 07, 2002 11:41 pm

I have had the symptons for almost 2 years now and it is getting difficult to deal with. I have not found anything to help. 36yr old male

Current Symptons -
1. Chest Pain - left side of chest feels tight, pressure. Sometimes a brief sharp pain. Sometimes various areas of left chest near my heart feels sore to the touch. Can feel soreness when I turn or twist my upper body. Symptoms can happen anytime. I get a tight feeling over by left armpit.

2. Neck - Sore or stiff neck on both sides and/or back of neck. Everyday, all day long. Sometimes gives headache.

3. Shoulder - Left shoulder sore, could be due to the fact that I sleep with my left arm extended over my head to relieve chest discomfort.

4. Arm - Left arm feels like it is numb most of the day. Anywhere from very minor to feeling like it went to sleep.

5. Fatigue - Feel tired most of the time.

6. Twiches - Once in a while I get these twiches or spasms briefly that occur in various locations.

7. Have a slightly indented chest in center since berth.

Tests already done -
1. Have had a stress thallium exam - passed fine
2. EKG - looked OK
3. Echocardigram - looked OK , doc said a minor valve leak that was common - not to worry about
4. EMG on left arm - looked OK
5. Upper GI to look for stomach problems - looked OK
6. Chest xray - looked OK
7. MRI on neck - looked OK
8. Doppler ultrasound on neck - looked OK
9. Physical and massage therapy - no relief
10. Exam of hips - showed that left hip was .25 inch higher than right - I now wear a .25 inch heel raiser.

Any idea what this could be?

This sounds like non-cardiac chest pain. However, if you have npt already done get an evaluation by a cardiologist.
