I get pains in my chest/heart area. It causes me to breathe shallowly and is painful if I try to take a full breath. But when I take a full deep breath it is very painful but the pain leaves.

Pain in the chest which occurs when one takes a deep breath in is called pleuritic chest pain.
The differential for this type of chest pain can be something benign like chest wall pain, or something more serious like a blood clot in the lung.
I would recommend an evaluation by your cardiologist
