Shap shooting pain

I am 22 year old male. And I have been having sharp shooting pains in my chest for a couple of weeks then they stopped. Last night I woke up and I had pains again only it was worse. I would lay down and it was hurting and then I went to sit up and it hurt more. Have any ideas to what it is? Anything serious?
