I read the S&S for this condition and although I don't know anyone personally who has this, I understand it's a medical emergency and that the person with it has to take care every minute of his/her life that the meds are working or if the condition is worsening.

After reading about this condition I know that as a witness to someone with this, if I see white or pink phlegm, I'll be calling 911 right away. This is the only S&S that I know that as a stranger if I see it then it's likely this condition.
