Congestive Heart Failure

my dad has cfh, he was diagnosed four years ago and has had all the normal treatments. he is on very high amounts of diuretics, he has had gout 5 times in the last three months (it is not his diet) and nothing seems to be clearing it up. most of the drugs for it he cannot take or he has more fluid retention, what happens if they cannot clear it and what do most patients die of in the end, kidney failure? heart attack? i just dont know what to expect. please can someone help me.
