Post a new topicby livingwith on Tue Feb 03, 2009 1:29 pm

Since birth I have had intermittent excruciating pain in my legs and arms (my arms up until around age 20) and restricted movement in all joints. As I have no swelling, it has never even been checked into by doctors.
Almost 2 years ago I started having episodes where my right side of my face droops, eyelid especially and have difficulty with speech as my tongue pulls to the right. I don’t know if it’s all a part of what is happening but I experience difficulty finding the correct...Read the full article

Go see a vascular specialist - If you live near or can get to one of the following places it iwll be worth the trip: Mount sinai in NYC - Dr. Jeffrey Olin. or the Mayo Clinic in Cleveland has a multidiplinary clinic.
You are not alone - most of us with FMD have been shopping doctors for 10-15 years with various weird symptoms and no diagnosis. If you don't have FMD - the above doctors are excellent diagnostcians and would refer you along. If some one you currently see suspects FMD then I would certainly hop on a train or plane to see one of those people listed above.

I really hope you find a doctor soon. I have recently been diagnosed with FMD... And I'm still having problems, which doctors don't want to touch..But thank God !!! I was sent to the Neuro Science drs. at MUSC in Charleston SC last week. They are going to do another angio of the head and neck next Monday. Then I will be seeing 3 more doctors...They see these cases all the time.. And you don't have to be referred. You can go online and request an appointment. It would be well worth the time and travel to see these great doctors. The ones I'm seeing are Dr.Patel, Dr.Ellegala,Dr.Turks and I forgot the other one. I can't wait til I get there on Monday..MUSC in Charleston SC (Neurology Department in the Rutledge Tower)
Please get someone to help you soon...life is to short...Ank keep us posted. We will all be praying for you.. Faye
