Heart Attack 12 years on and anxious.

I suffered a heart attack in 1997, in intensive care for several days, but pulled through and the result of an exercise ECG 2 months later satisfied the hospital I only needed drugs and I never had an angiogram.
I was prescribed beta blockers, furusimide, statins, and aspirin, and 3 years ago ramipril for blood pressure, still take the same dosages to this day.
I also stopped smoking, lost some weight, cut out fatty foods, and exercised, I was 59 years old at the time.
Upon visiting my doctor 6 months after the attack, I asked him what life span I might expect, and was then reassured when he said 'you could live another 10 years' !

It is now 12 years and whilst I still feel fit and active, and very gratefull to be so, those words are with me every day, and I am constantly expecting to expire any day.

This may seem a trivial matter, but i cannot shake it, and I know I am lucky to have reached 70.

Anybody had a similar experience, or had a similar heart problem and lived a long life afterwards.

It woul be good to hear.
