AnnoyedHey, My name is Shannon and I am 38 with diabeties and high blood pressure. I just learned last week that I have high blood pressure and I am down about it. I’ve had diabeties for about 5 years now and thought that I was done with illnesses until age 80.

Re: AnnoyedShannon, please do not give up because you have High blood pressure.It seems to be part and parcel of many people's lives these days.I thought I should share with you that I am now on my 11th. hbp. medication,so there are quite a few more that you can try.Because I have S.L.E[lupus] I react to many meds. My body rejects many things apart from the meds, but I did finally manage to find ones that do their work fairly well.Yes, there are still side effects,like dry mouth and occasional sleepiness but after trying so many others I am settled on Clonidine and Lasix, a diuretic,with the addition of potassium .No-one likes being diagnosed with any disease ,but one has to learn to cope the best way that you can.I do hope that,by now, you have been able to find a med. that agrees better with your body.
