aftermaths of hypertension

Post a new topicby Guest on Fri May 10, 2002 9:46 am

Hi,

I am a 27 year-old lady. I have just been diagnosed to have high b.p of 145/100. This morning, i had splitting headache due to neck pain. The doctor said the pain might be due to high pressure. So next week, if there is no more pain, i have to see the doctor to recheck my bp. If the bp is still high, i will have to be on long-term medication. But i am worried that at my age, how serious am I if i have hypertension (mild) untreated?

Pls advise me how to prevent hypertension without having to be on long-term medication.

What is your height, weight and waist circumferance? If you are overweight and have a waist measurment greater than 34" it is very important that you take action right now to reduce your weight and especially your waist. This can only be accomplished by exercise and diet. It is not easily done but if you have the will-power to work on it every day, you will probably make a big difference in your cardiovascular risk.
