Is Mild Mitral regurgitation a cause for concern?

Post a new topicby roxiegomez on Fri Apr 17, 2009 5:35 pm

I am a 57 yo female who recently had a cardiolite stress test and was diagnosed as having a mild degree of mitral regurgitation. My EF was 73%. I am asymptomatic except for some recent sporadic swelling of my ankles. I could not last long on the stress test because when they injected the cardiolite, I became dizzy and had to stop - my physician is recommending that I see a cardiologist for evaluation. My blood pressure is normal. In looking at the internet I am seeing that this mitral regurgitation is only corrected with surgery..is this something that gets worse with time?
