Don’t Wait

My husband recently tried to quit smoking after smoking for over 30 years. He was a pack to 2 pack a day smoker.
He was a carpenter and a very strong man who could out work 3 men and lift much more than he should have.
Last Sunday evening he admitted to me that he had chest pain for 2 days. He insisted that it would go away and refused to go to the hospital.
Within one hour I was doing CPR on my best friend, my lover, my soul mate.

My heart goes out to you. I know this isn't comparable to losing a husband but I had an uncle who was near and dear to me who also was taken due to smoking at the age of 43 and it still hurts. I am finally taking the stand and am 5 days into quitting smoking after 15 years of slowly killing myself. Thank you for sharing your story, I still have tears in my eyes just thinking about it.
