About Electronic Cigarettes

Post a new topicby Carlie on Tue Mar 02, 2010 4:24 pm

You know, I have heard about the e-cigs, and I have to wonder IF maybe they can help someone quit smoking because one of them that I personally know of has a way that you can reduce the levels of nicotine little by little. Wouldn't that possibly help someone to quit?

There are better and more predictable forms of nicotine replacement therapy. Human lungs were not designed to inhale anything other than clean air. Even the ecigs will present them with a challenge. The ecig dosage and administration of nicotine is not as well controlled as the patch or gum so the ability to successfully wean an addiction is impaired. In short the ecig was never intended to help quit tobacco. It was intended to replace tobacco with a different form of inhalant. It will not be long but what the ecig is formally outlawed and many states have taken this step already.

An electronic cigarette, also known as an e-cigarette or personal vaporizer, is a battery-powered device that provides inhaled doses of nicotine by way of a vaporized solution. It is an alternative to smoked tobacco products, such as cigarettes, cigars, or pipes. In addition to purported nicotine delivery,[1] this vapor also provides a flavor and physical sensation similar to that of inhaled tobacco smoke, while no smoke or combustion is actually involved in its operation.
