stroke

I'm very concerned with my father......I was informed today that last night my father was talking to my mother and was confused about his sisters kids names.......as well as places they had visited over the summer, he couldn't remember names of restaurants they ate at daily or the owners name whom he has grown up with. He also awoke in the middle of the night and felt like vomitting.........he states he only had the urge to making the gestures and noises but nothing came out. He is a smoker of almost 50 years, and he has never forgotten his neices or nephews names until yesterday. I'm very concerned and urge him to seek medical help, I think he had a "mild" or "mini" stroke and not known, i'm worried more serious damage can occur if no action is taken
