Blood in urine AFTER abdominal pain.

Post a new topicby GO79 on Wed Aug 05, 2009 3:40 am

Hi

This is my first time posting, so I hope I've put it in the right section.

For years I've been diagnosed (in my opinion wrongly) with IBS. After drinking alcohol reasonably heavily, I've suffered with really bad stomach cramps the day after. This has gone on for years with no set pattern i.e sometimes the amount has been a few drinks and the pain has been there and other times I could have had a considerable amount, with no affects.

Over the last year I've noticed that when the pain is dying down my urine has been considerably darker. I put it down to dehydration so drank more fluid. However the last few occasions the urine has been more red than dark. Last Sunday I had a drink, got stomach cramps on Monday and by Monday night my urine was brown. Tuesday morning it was red and by Tuesday evening and still now (Wed morning) it is the colour of cheap red wine. I have been to the doctors who said it was very unusual to see so much blood in a sample, but they are just going to send off the sample and gave antibiotics to treat the immediate problem, but I'd like to know what is actually happening?

Any ideas? Many thanks in advance.

Gareth.
